Welcome to Smoky Mountain Bullet Banjos—where tradition meets creativity, one string at a time.

Our instruments are more than just banjos. Each one is handcrafted in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, using reclaimed top-of-the-line cigar boxes, .44 Magnum bullet casings, and a whole lot of imagination. The result? A one-of-a-kind, single-string banjo that’s simple to play, soulful in sound, and full of character.

We believe music should be fun, accessible, and unique. That’s why our motto is “One String… None the Same!” Every banjo has its own story—whether it’s the wood grain in the box, the shine of a glass slide, or the echo of the mountains in its tone. No two are ever alike.

When we’re not building in the workshop, you’ll find us picking and sliding at craft shows and festivals across Eastern Tennessee. In 2024 alone, we sent 70 banjos home with musicians, collectors, and curious first-timers who wanted to bring a little Smoky Mountain sound into their lives.
